The champions of Good fighting against Evil.
The Angels
The Angels are always related with the Maces because they are part of the same tableau. Today, two representatives of the forces of Good take part in the performance: Saint Michael the Archangel and another Angel who accompanies him. The Angels are documented from 1621, when only Saint Michael appears. His assistant is included in the performance in the first half of the 19th century. Until the first decade of the 20th century, Saint Michael the Archangel wore a mask, today kept at the Berga Interpretation Centre.
